There are support groups for girls, trans people and young people all over Sweden. Their job is to strengthen and support children and young people. Mainly, support groups can be reached through chat, email and phone, which means that you can be anonymous when you contact a support group.

Support groups are almost always non-profit associations that are run by young people. Talking to a support group should be like talking to a friend or an older sibling. Somebody who supports you without judging, and always believes in you!

You can contact a support group about anything. If you feel bad and need to talk to someone about it, if you have a question about your body or if you simply need someone to share your happiness over getting your driver's license with! There are no questions that are too small or too big.

The persons providing support are not professionals and can’t diagnose you. However, they are more than happy to help you contact a doctor, the police or a social worker if you want them to!

What’s the difference between support groups for girls, trans people, young people, and boys?

All support groups on this site support young people.

• Groups for girls support girls only. The people answering the chat, phone, and emails are also girls.

• Groups for trans people and girls support all girls and trans people. This means that you can contact them either if you are a cis girl or non-binary, trans girl, trans boy or trans in any other way. The people answering over chat, phone and email are girls, non-binary and/or trans people too.

• Groups for young people support all young people, regardless of gender. People of all genders operate the groups’ chat, phone, and email.

• Groups for boys are only for boys who need support. There are two support groups for boys listed on this site. One of them (Under Kevlaret) only has boys answering their chat, phone, and mail. At the other support group (Killfrågor), people of different genders provide support
